Dr. Mark Shumski grew up in Schuylkill County, PA near Pottsville. He graduated magna cum laude from Lehigh University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience. He then went on to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University and graduated in 2011.
Upon graduating he moved to Western Pennsylvania where he has been practicing in Monroeville, PA. He joined Dr. Miroslava Zeleznik-Landis’s practice in June 2023.
Dr. Shumski has training and experience in the treatment and management of ocular disease including: cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye care, macular degeneration, dry eye disease, and many others. In addition, Dr Shumski also specializes in contact lens fittings, as well as LASIK and cataract surgical co-management.
Dr. Shumski lives in Oakmont with his wife Kara, daughter Lena (7), and son John (5). In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing the guitar and piano, and watching and playing sports. For better or worse Dr. Shumski is a big Philadelphia sports fan. Dr. Shumski values the importance of getting to know each of his patients on a personal level, and accommodating all of their visual needs. Dr. Shumski looks forward to meeting you and your family.
